As we are now into our 4th month of distance learning, keeping our kids engaged in school continues to be a challenge. While many students are managing as best they can, we see some who are disengaging more often and falling further behind. We know these are challenging times and the mental health of our students, families, and staff are so important. Our district social workers and counselors have developed an amazing website to support the mental health of our Evergreen community. You can find the information on the eesd.org webpage.

Welcome back to all of our returning and new Katherine Smith families. Please click on the link to read our Welcome Back letter. There is a lot of important information regarding this coming school year. The letter is also available in Spanish and Vietnamese.

Our school office is open this week, by appointment only, from 8:00-4:00. The last appointment available is Friday, June 26th at 3:30. The office will reopen with regular hours on August 10th.

Dear K Smith families,
We have now come to the end of another school year. While we are not ending the way we would hope, we are so proud of all of our students and the work they have done during this difficult time. Our teachers and other staff members have worked incredibly hard to support your children and we hope you have been able to reach out and thank them to share your appreciation!

We appreciate all the work you continue to do to support your children with Distance Learning. We would all rather be back on campus and many have settled in to a routine, others are finding it more of a struggle to keep their kids motivated and on track. Our community partners, Project Hope, are holding an internet connectivity event to help families register for free and reduced-cost wifi Tuesday and Wednesday at K Smith from 10:30-12:30. Please come see us if you need support!
