All 6th grade students must complete registration even if they do not plan to attend the optional events. We need to collect t-shirt sizes for all students for their commemorative class shirt!

6th Grade Aloha Promotion Activities
Aloha 6th Grade Parents!
In light of the latest announcement regarding the school’s shift to distance learning for the rest of the school year, the 6th Grade Surf's Up Swim Party and Last Dance Luau have been canceled.
There’s still a chance Mr. Greenfield and staff could facilitate some sort of Promotion Ceremony. Once the county/state shelter in place is lifted and we are given guidance on social distancing rules, we will know more on how we can proceed. Perhaps an event could be planned in late Summer right before the new school year begins. More communications to follow.

6th Grade Class Gift Donation
The 6th grade class traditionally gives the school a gift before they move on to middle school. If you could spare a small donation please help in this cause. Send donation via pay pal to ekirch@pacbell.net or via Venmo @Erika-Kirchenbauer and reference your child's name and your email. The committee will send you confirmation that your donation was received.
Class Tile
The 6th grade class will also leave behind a signed class tile to be mounted at school. Before the school year ends you will get direction on how we can collect your child’s signature. This will most likely happen during the same time you will be instructed to return books and collect any open items from the school. Keep an eye out for such communications
Commemorative Gift
Each 6th grade student will receive a commemorative beach towel. These will be distributed before the end of school year and instructions will be sent on how and when we will do this.

Slideshow Photo Upload Instructions
Dear Sixth Grade Parents,
The Sixth Grade Promotion Slideshow is a Silver Oak tradition that all parents and students look forward to enjoying. It’s a 7-year stroll down memory lane shown during the beginning of the Promotion Ceremony. What makes this possible are your photos - we need your help to collect pictures!
We need two pictures of your child - one from kindergarten (or as close as possible) and one recently from 6th grade. We also need group pictures of Silver Oak events over the years too!
Here’s the slideshow that we put together two years ago -
What do we need?
- 2 pictures of your child: one from kindergarten (or as close as possible) and one recently from 6th grade
- Group pictures: (minimum of 3 kids) at Silver Oak events over the years (school clubs, events, field trips); we’ll use a selection of the submissions as time permits in the slideshow
How should you send them to us?
- Please upload your pictures by type (kinder, current, group)

- When you upload your pictures, please put your child’s first and last name in the name field. Put your email address in the email address field (we’ll email you with any questions)
- Higher resolution photos are best (we can resize them as necessary)
- Once we receive your pictures, we will email you to confirm receipt of the pictures
NOTE: By sending photos, you are granting permission by the Promotion Committee to include and display the students in the images in the slideshow.
When is the deadline?
- Please upload all pictures by Friday May 1, 2020
