One Can, Two Can, Who Can... You Can End Hunger
2019 Second Harvest Food Drive
It is important for our children to learn that we are all connected with responsibilities toward one another and to society. The qualities of generosity, caring, compassion and service to others becomes a strong and integral part of a child's character when he/she is given opportunities and is encouraged to perform both small and large acts of kindness. By teaching children to give generously of their time, talents and treasures, we are helping them build the pillars of character of caring and community service within themselves.
As in the past, our school will be participating in a food drive. Students are asked to bring in non-perishable food to be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank for distribution to families in need. The canned food drive will begin the week of December 2nd and continue through December 13th. You can help your children experience the joy of giving and learn the importance of stewardship by talking to them about service to others, by helping them select food to donate, and by encouraging your children to give generously.
