REGISTRATION IS OPEN
Silver Oak Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will offer the Primary Programmers course throughout the school year in 2019-2020. The classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays before school between 7:15 AM and 8 AM. The course will include Primary Programmers Bronze and Primary Programmers Silver groups.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Course Description
Primary Programmers Bronze is open for 4th and 5th grade students where students will learn basic programming concepts using a standard programming language, such as Python. From variables and data types to loops and arrays, students will learn basic algorithm development and create small software projects. The aim of this group is to establish a solid background for programming. (max 30 students)
Primary Programmers Silver is opened to all 6th grade students. 5th grade students who have taken Primary Programmers Bronze Classes are also eligible for this group. Silver group will work on programming projects to develop challenging algorithms. (max 30 students)
Dates & Times
Primary Programmers Bronze - Tuesdays: Oct 8th – June 2nd, 7:15 AM to 8 AM
Primary Programmers Silver - Thursdays: Oct 10th – June 4th, 7:15 AM to 8 AM
Every week except school holidays. The classes are held in Silver Oak room D-14, Mrs. Hoshino's classroom.
REGISTRATION
Registration: Students may be registered online on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. If your student misses registration, or a desired class is full, please send an email to primaryprogrammers@gmail.com with the student's name, grade, teacher, and the desired course to get on the waiting list.
Grades: Open to Silver Oak 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students
Deadline: Friday, Oct 4th, 2019 (or earlier if capacity is reached)
Fees: NO REGISTRATION FEE
