Congratulations to Ruhani from Chaboya Middle School for winning the Santa Clara County College Day 2020 Sticker Design Contest! The County Office of Education received and reviewed artwork from students all over the county. Great job, Ruhani!

The Evergreen School District Board of Trustees has appointed Mrs. Deborah Ashmore to the position of Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services of Evergreen School District subject to ratification of the employment agreement at the July 9, 2020 Board of Trustees Regular Meeting.

Outdoor activities can offer relief from lockdowns and quarantines, and are good for physical and mental health. Summer weather may make the outdoors a little safer, but it won't be enough to quash coronavirus on its own. Precautions like physical distancing and mask-wearing must continue to be followed.

At the time of school closure, elementary students just completed Trimester 2. For Trimester 3, students will receive feedback in the "teacher comments" area of the report cards. Traditional grades will not be provided and "NA" will be recorded in all subject areas.

Our Project Cornerstone reading year was cut a bit short, but many of the wonderful books from our "Building Year" list were able to shared and discussed in the classroom before the shut down. For those rising 3rd - 6th graders who are looking for reading ideas, we are happy to report that the book lists for the Fall 2020 BATTLE OF THE BOOKS contest are now posted. There are separate lists for grades 3-4 and grades 5-6 that are selected by America's Battle of the Books organization. It's never too early to start reading!

Each week I will be providing some fun and challenging Brain Games for you to enjoy. The objective of the game is to be the first player to reach an agreed upon amount; or have the highest score at the end of a predetermined number of rounds. (say 10 rounds.)
