Silver Oak Newsroom
Take the Challenge!
The Kids Heart Challenge is a fun and exciting event led by Mrs. Hogan's and Mrs. Fong's 4th grade classes this fall. Through Kids Heart Challenge, kids learn jump rope skills, how their heart works, and they raise money to help kids with special hearts.
It prepares your child for success through physical and emotional well-being. Have fun, learn how to stay healthy and make a difference in the lives of others!
Mrs. Fong's class will teach the 1st through 3rd grade classes jump roping skills and will help with jumping and turning the ropes during recess and lunchtime. Mrs. Hogan's class will be in charge of the event logistics.
On Monday, October 28 students attended a kick-off assembly, received fundraising materials and learned about this year's event. As students collect funds and reach certain dollar amounts, they will be rewarded with achievement prizes. Also, for every $1,500 raised by the students, a $100 certificate is awarded to our school for the physical education program to purchase new equipment.
Our school goal this year is to raise $3000. Over the 25 years Silver Oak has participated we have raised over $100,000 to help with heart related research.
The challenge will take place on Thursday, November 14 at school.
Please donate online or submit donations to school by Friday, November 22.
