Please drive safely in and around the school and remember to follow all traffic laws. It's dangerous to cut in line to get into the school, cut through on the wrong side of the road and not stop at crosswalks for the children crossing. I have recently requested cameras from the city to be added around the school. Hopefully this will help with drop off and pick up. Thank you, Mrs. Fierro

Earlier this year, we piloted a food program here at Clark along with our Child Nutrition Services Department and want to share the results. Students may place any unused, uneaten cafeteria items in a cooler that will be in the Forum. This is for cafeteria food only - No food from home! During that particular lunch period, STUDENTS may help themselves to anything on the table at no cost. At the end of the lunch period, those items will go back to our lunch lady. We will try to reuse any items that we can. Refrigerated items will be kept on ice and whole fruit rewashed before serving again. The items should only be out for each lunch period so the total time they are sitting out is kept to a minimum. Click on the headline for the results.

As an alternative to sweet treats in the classroom, the school would like to encourage items like books and pencils for celebrations. Non-food rewards and incentives should be used as the first choice to encourage positive behavior.

Just a reminder that the kinder playground is closed after school because there is no supervision. It is difficult for the teachers on parking lot duty to tell who is being supervised and who is not when parents are present. This creates safety issues and the school can be held liable. Students playing on the kindergarten playground will be reminded to wait in the designated area for pick up.

Have you noticed the fence art up at the bus loop? BE KIND is not just a catch phrase here, it's something we need to strive for as a school community. Thank you to a group of dedicated parents who donated this sign in our school colors. It was a fun project to help put together. There will be a similar one put up on the fence down by the service gate.

Parents of 6th graders - you will need to provide documentation that your child had a Tdap (whooping cough) booster shot given on or after 7 years old. Our goal is to have ALL 6th grade students provide this documentation before the end of May. If you haven't done so already, check your child's immunization record or call your physician to find out when they last had a Tdap vaccination. Once the shot is completed, bring in the immunization record to the school office so we can document that the requirement has been completed. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL SUMMER TO COMPLETE THIS REQUIREMENT.
