The word "rules" is often thought to mean a list of things we are NOT supposed to do. At K Smith, we think of rules as expectations and create learning targets so that students know exactly what it means to "Be Kind to Others." We also want students and staff to see the connections between these expectations and strategies we learn about and support everyday, like the Habits and the Tools.

Learning Targets: K Smith Habits/Tools:

-I can practice patience-Patience Tool

-I can listen with empathy-Empathy Tool

-I can say how I feel-Use Your Words Tool

-I can say "please" and "thank you"- Please and Thank You Tool
