Theater at Silver Oak
Silver Oak PTO offers opportunities for its students to participate in theater with the extracurricular offering of an Upper Grade Play in the fall (grades 4-6) and a Lower Grade Play in the spring (grades 1-3).
PTO partners with Starting Arts to run all the logistics associated with the theater production, rehearsals, and performances for our two annual plays. Starting Arts (SA) is a bay area performing arts company focusing on connecting young people with the arts. We have been working with SA since Fall 2009, and are thankful for the amazing work they do to bring theater to life at Silver Oak.
Parent Volunteers are needed to assist with various small tasks such as supervising rehearsals, assembling the cast board with provided headshots, help with ticket will-call & door-sales, as well as backstage at performances, and planning the post-performance cast party. All needs will be communicated for each play by the PTO Parent Producers.

Upper Grade Play
Calling all 4th through 6th graders!
Upper Grade Play Registration is OPEN!
(Registration MUST be received by the 9/6/19 deadline in order to attend Auditions - NO WALK-INS ALLOWED)
Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character.
Important Information:
*COST is $175 (non-refundable once auditions begin, +$4.90 fee for online registration)
*AUDITIONS begin Monday, September 9 (NO WALK-INS ALLOWED)
*REHEARSALS take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:15-4:15 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room
(A rehearsal call list will be distributed to advise what cast members are called to each practice)
*PERFORMANCE Dates are the evening of December 12 and 13
*TECH WEEK: Extra, extended rehearsals will take place the week of December 9-11

We are currently in need of a parent lead (or pair of leads) to coordinate with program with Starting Arts for Spring 2020.
