Art webinar schedule of classes, descriptions, and links to class recordings. These creative art classes are taught by professional artists and educators using visual arts, artistic creative writing, and music/theater to inspire our young students.

Dance Classes - September 23 - December 16, 2020 (no class November 11, 25)

Game-U Classes - begins October 7, 2020 (no class November 11, 25)
This Wednesday enrichment class offers students the chance to learn how to design and code in some of the most popular genres of games on the market. Class are for all grades and size is limited to 15 students. This 8-week workshop is free and has two sessions on Wednesdays: 10-11 a.m. or 12-1 p.m. Register at game-u/evergreen.

Math Olympiad Team - October 20, 2020 - March 16, 2021.
A team of over 30 Silver Oak Math Olympiad students meets every Tuesday to learn different problem solving techniques and practice solving non-typical math problems. The Math Olympiad contest consists of 5 exams held once a month from November to March. Exams cover advanced math problems and have the same paper for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Speech/Public Speaking Enrichment Program - begins September 16, 2020
The district is working with Advantage Communications to offer a public speaking program where 4th and 5th graders acquire life skills, build confidence and have presence. Students will learn the art of non-verbal communications, vocal inflection, pacing, eye contact, research and speech writing structure, interpretation skills, and interpersonal communication. Students will be encouraged to write an informative speech and present their writings in a clear and engaging way that is unique to their level and style. The program is full at this time and not accepting new registrations.

Speech & Debate Team - begins September 23, 2020
The district is working with a company named Advantage Communications. We started with 90 students this year and hope to grow the program in the coming years. We have three teams representing each of our middle schools. Student participation includes 20 students at each of the middle schools and 10 additional sixth-grade students from our elementary schools. After registration, students participate in video submitted auditions to determine teams. This program requires the involvement of three teachers who, with Advantage Communications Coaches, co-coach students once per week. At this time, the program is full and no longer accepting new registrations.

Sports for Learning - 2020-2021
Silver Oak is partnering with Sports For Learning to provide fun physical education activities for students. Grades TK, 1, 3 and 5 will meet from 11:15 - 11:45 p.m. and grades K, 2, 4 and 6 will meet from 1:15 - 1:45 p.m. Use these links to join the fun!

Yoga and Wellness - begins October 7, 2020
Silver Oak is partnering with Blissful Yoga to offer FREE yoga sessions to empower youth to build self confidence, to feel balanced and overcome stress. All grades are welcome. We will meet Wednesdays from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Oct. 21, Oct. 28, Nov. 4, and Nov. 11.
